What if transforming a neglected urban space could redefine community living?
In recent months, the Cesena Local Circle has focused on finalising a comprehensive report outlining the strategic plan and roadmap for implementing actions developed within the WeGenerate project at the 'Vigne-Railway' Demo site.
The foundation of this report is built upon a thorough analysis of the area leading to the creation of a series of integrated actions to improve urban environment's quality and establish the site as a pilot project for advancing environmental sustainability, accessibility, and public space usability.
The project in Cesena will implement actions aligned with WeGenerate’s core objectives, which include:
- Raising awareness of sustainable mobility systems,
- Enhancing social cohesion,
- Promoting urban greening,
- Supporting public space redevelopment, and
- Testing a digital twin as a decision-support tool for historic building renovations.
The success of these initiatives will depend significantly on active community engagement and the effective integration of digital technologies, which are crucial for their successful execution.
The WeGenerate Urban Action Plan and Implementation Roadmap for Cesena provides an in-depth overview of the strategy developed to tackle the various challenges faced by the Cesena Demo site. It details the planned activities, identifies stakeholders involved, outlines methodologies employed, and establishes key milestones to monitor progress.
This report is set to be submitted by the end of January 2025, marking the official commencement of the implementation phase for WeGenerate project activities in the Cesena Demo area.
