From challenges to change: rethinking energy supply in Europe
As part of the Sustainable Energy Days, the WeGenerate project, together with projects REGEN EU, Blueprint and GINNGER, is organising a joint session titled “From challenges to change: rethinking energy supply in Europe.”
The event will take place on 30 April 2026, from 10:30 to 12:00 CEST, and will bring together practitioners, policy enablers and civil society representatives to discuss practical pathways towards a fairer and more energy-efficient Europe.
Energy poverty and unequal access to clean energy remain pressing challenges across many European regions. This session aims to move beyond diagnosis and focus on solutions already being tested at local level. Building on the experience of European pilot cities, each participating project will present concrete approaches that are helping to address energy-related vulnerabilities in communities.
The discussion will take a strongly interactive and policy-oriented approach. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with speakers and contribute to a shared reflection on how local initiatives can inform and inspire broader European strategies.
Key themes of the session include:
- Local responses to energy poverty and vulnerability
- Scalable solutions for energy efficiency
- Lessons learned from pilot cities across Europe
- Bridging the gap between local action and EU policy frameworks
The session will feature contributions from Cesar Valmaseda, João Dinis, Maëlle Hay, and Emanuela Vita, representing different perspectives and experiences from ongoing European initiatives.
By connecting local realities with policy discussions, the event aims to generate actionable insights and recommendations that can support a more inclusive and sustainable energy transition across Europe.
Participation is free of charge, but registration is required. Register here.
