WeGenerate Welcomes Five New Cities: An International Collaboration for Urban Innovation
We are thrilled to announce the selection of five exceptional cities to join the WeGenerate innovation community, following an impressive response to our Call for Fellow Cities. Out of 26 highly-qualified applications from 16 different countries, Cartagena (Spain), Kadıköy (Turkey), Liepaja (Latvia), Szombathely (Hungary), and Zagreb (Croatia) have been chosen to become our new Fellow Cities.
Each application underwent a rigorous review process to ensure a fair and comprehensive assessment. These newly selected cities will play a pivotal role in the Fellow Cities Exchange Programme, acting as active contributors and early adopters of people-centred neighbourhood regeneration innovations currently being implemented in our Demo Cities.
Through a combination of online exchanges, capacity building sessions, and in-person Study Visits to each Demo City, the Fellow Cities will gain valuable insights and practical knowledge. This hands-on experience will enable them to understand and contextualize WeGenerate solutions, paving the way for future implementation in their own urban environments.
We are excited to embark on this transformative journey with our new Fellow Cities and look forward to the innovative urban solutions that will emerge from this collaboration as part of the Fellow Cities Exchange Programme.
