WeGenerate in Tampere: Digitwin in action for resident engagement
Tampere has entered a new phase of resident engagement by testing its newly developed digital twin with community members. The digital twin, which models the green urban space around the railway station, was introduced to the first focus group of 20 individuals during a workshop on 6 September. The workshop aimed to gather insights and feedback on the design of the public space, with a focus on accessibility, walkability, and the social environment, while also evaluating the digital twin itself.
Workshops will continue throughout the autumn, with 3-4 additional sessions planned for different resident focus groups. These workshops represent a significant step toward deeper citizen engagement, allowing residents to participate in urban planning and decision-making through the use of digital tools.
